With the holidays quickly approaching, many people are in the giving spirit. Some will volunteer their time in a nursing home, donate canned goods or hold a clothing drive. This season, we ask you to consider giving back to local families who are experiencing family violence.
The Center for Family Safety and Healing (TCFSH) addresses all aspects of family violence including child abuse and neglect, teen dating abuse, domestic violence and elder abuse. Even the smallest donation can make a lasting impact on a family in crisis due to violence.
We know that in a domestic violence situation, leaving a relationship is the most dangerous time for victims and their children/pets. Often, an abuser will escalate violent behavior due to the perception of losing power and control over the victim.
When clients come to TCFSH for healing and services, they often haven’t eaten or had time to pack up essential, everyday items. As a non-profit organization, TCFSH counts on members of our close-knit community for donations to help restore hope for clients and their families.
TCFSH is currently in need of items for adult clients, including: pay-as-you-go cell phones, window alarms, feminine hygiene products and shampoo/hair products for ethnic hair.
Other items to donate include:
- Travel size hygiene products (shampoo, soap, sanitizer, deodorant, toothpaste, brushes/combs)
- Grocery and gas gift cards (in the amounts of $5-$25)
- Non-perishable snacks (nuts, crackers, beef jerky, dried fruit)
Do you use Amazon? You can donate from home or on-the-go using our Amazon Family Violence Wish List, too! With a few clicks, choose any of our pre-selected items. They’re shipped directly to us with no hassle.

TCFSH is grateful to be a part of such a giving, kind-hearted community. All donations, big or small, are extremely appreciated by TCFSH staff, clients and families.
